An email has been going around claiming this photo captured the assassination of the Mahatma, it’s actually a still from the movie - NINE HOURS TO RAMA - released in 1963.In 1964 it was nominated for a BAFTA Film Award Best British Cinematography.
Horst Buchholz played Nathuram Godse.

I see the similarities in the face in the photo and the movie actor. But the specific scene in not to be seen in the movie clip.
ReplyDeleteThe scene in the first photo may have been edited out in the final version as it may have been seen as inflammatory, I have added a couple of images that would have been a part of that sequence, these too have been edited out.
